i read your other posts, and i agree that hes isolated and lonely. I think the picture also is sort of beautiful, and that also may relate to richard, because the others didn't realize his value. He was lonely, yet he was a wonderful person. You know how the picture is the sea? well, the sea cant be admired if no ones there, so if know one gives him a chance, how will they know his true value?
