This book has been going great. This kid amazes me. He has a strong sense of anger and misjudgement. As an example, he ran away from his foster home when his mom had to work, and he went out into the street when he wasnt even 10 yet. Also, before that, when he lived in his home, and his mom went to work, he used to go out in the night, and went to the bar. Adults would go to him and and give him drinks and money to go say dirty things to other people. He really didnt know what it meant until he went to school, and when he told his mom then got mad and didnt believe him when he told them he learned it in school. The book is very descripitive, and the author is amazing. Writing a book with such detail must be hard to do, since he had very little education when he was young. Im glad i choose Black Boy as my independent reading book.

Poor boy, he has a really hard life. Running away from home and being payed to say nasty things. I feel sorry for him. The book does sound descriptive however, and i hope you enjoy reading it! :)
By the way, is this a memoir or autobiogaraphy? That kid is amazing. Normally, you'd get smacked for being rude and smarth-mouthed in school, in that time period. Oh wait, what time period is it?

Hey, this sounds like a very engaging story. I agree with what you wrote. If this person is as uneducated as you say, then it really is amazing that they could write such a terrific novel. This might be the next book that I would read,

Wow it seems that you were really interested in the story. I would like to hear more of what is going on in the story because the circumstances seem very unusual. For example what were his reasons for running away or what drove him to go to the bar?
wow, the mom seems like a really mean lady. But I still don't think it was right for him to run away from home. Why would the boy want to run away? the mom must have done something terrible.
This book sounds intriguing cuz u said that it has a lot of description and that the author is amazing. Usually i find authors of books boring but at the same time, the book to be amazing...wierd kinda =/. I usually say Neep to the book ^_^. To make things fun i also usually listen to audio that can help the book to be fun *like my blog neepsterz.blogspot.com* But u dont have to do that =D.
